Age Grading & Combined Event Scoring

Age Grading is an adjustment for a performance (time, height or distance) based on age – the older you are, the bigger the adjustment. The adjustment, known as an Age Grade Factor, is multiplied by the performance to get an Age Graded Performance so all times, heights or distances for each event by athletes from 20 to over 100 years old can be compared to each other! The Age Graded Performance is the equivalent to what the athlete would have done when they were in their 20s.

Meet the Athletes

Started Track and Field late in life. Always did recreational running as part of a complete fitness program. I started track in 2014 quickly finding myself at the back of the pack. Seeking advise from some of the best performing athletes in the world, I was advised to keep going! I have followed this advise and am very pleased with my progress so far. The health and fitness benefits are great and the challenge of taking on a new sport is very good for the cognitive. The Track and Field community consists of some of the finest people anywhere in the world!
