Andy Harris, USA - M55

I was born in Scottsdale, AZ. Moved to Clovis, CA at age 12.
Competed at CHS. Finished 5th in shot put and 12th in discus at my senior state meet (CIF) in 1986.
Walked on to CSU, Fresno and went to Jr Nats in 1987, finished 4th in hammer.
In 1990, finished 6th in 35lb weight throw at NCAA`s indoors. Finished 8th in hammer 203`10 outdoors. Threw 199` at TAC Nat`l Champs. Ended college 7th at NCAA indoors. Threw 205` 6 on a four turn at an all-comers--that was it. Started again after moving to IL, marrying and having three daughters. Started up after a bad physical exam. Coached shot and disc at four high schools, settling at Joliet Central for 16 seasons. Got 4th in the weight pentathlon in Sacramento in 2011. 2015 I threw 50m with the 16lb hammer. Got 4th in Lyon, France in 2015 in hammer. Hoping to make it to Toronto next year and to compete in hammer and weight pentathlon. Thanks.
