Age Grading & Combined Event Scoring

Age Grading is an adjustment for a performance (time, height or distance) based on age – the older you are, the bigger the adjustment. The adjustment, known as an Age Grade Factor, is multiplied by the performance to get an Age Graded Performance so all times, heights or distances for each event by athletes from 20 to over 100 years old can be compared to each other! The Age Graded Performance is the equivalent to what the athlete would have done when they were in their 20s.

Meet the Athletes

My husband, Bert, and I joined Senior Olympics Track & Field in 1994. 1st meet was at Occidental College. There we learned about Masters Track. I started out with the shorts sprints and added the 200m, high jump, discus and javelin through the years. I was elected to the Masters Hall of Fame in 2008. I have broken 15 World Records and 3 American Records since 1996. As of 2018 I still hold 8 World Records in W70-79 age group in sprints, high jump. In 2015 I was named Female Masters Athlete of the Year. Currently my husband and I coach a local high school`s high jumpers. We are in our 7th year. We also officiate at the Arcadia Invitationals every year.
