Barry has been competing in masters javelin since 2004. His best year was 2008 when he set his PB of 47.51m, won the silver medal at the USATF National Championships, and won the gold medal at the Canadian National Championships (as a visiting American).
More recently, Barry was the bronze medalist in the National Senior Games in 2022.
