Age Grading & Combined Event Scoring

Age Grading is an adjustment for a performance (time, height or distance) based on age – the older you are, the bigger the adjustment. The adjustment, known as an Age Grade Factor, is multiplied by the performance to get an Age Graded Performance so all times, heights or distances for each event by athletes from 20 to over 100 years old can be compared to each other! The Age Graded Performance is the equivalent to what the athlete would have done when they were in their 20s.

Meet the Athletes

I was born on the 20th of January 1968 in Gmünd/Lower Austria.

I attended primary and secundary school in Bad Großpertholz/Lower Austria. Then I graduated at the Technical College in Hollabrunn/Lower Austria in Electrical Engineering.

Then I earned my masters degree in Business Administration at the Viennese Economic University. I finished my Studies with a doctors degree in Ecomomic and Social Sciences at the Viennese Economic University.

In my professional carrier I managed different branches of ÖAMTC (Austrian Automobil Club) as Frontier Stations, Internal Services etc. Now I´m in charge of Finance.

I´m Knight of the Order of St. George und earned several other awards.

I do voluntary work for sports since I´ve been 14 years old. Among others I was member of the the bord of the Lower Austrian Football Federation, I´ve worked for the Chess Federation. Since 2007 I take care of Austrian National Teams in yoth, elite class an most of all in masters athletics. To be onest, Masters Athletics is one of my passions!

As athlete I´m a race walker. I´m not really good, but I love doing it.

The best thing about Masters Athletics is to get the opportunity to make friends all over the world!
